We encourage [YOU] to take on a empty unused space and grow your own food or flowers.

The Rooftop Eatable Garden started as a collective idea between neighbors in my building in Brooklyn, New York. By planting a eatable garden on an unused area we've transformed a neglected rooftop into a productive green space that contributes to urban ecology. We provide healthy food, reduce CO2 emissions, increase habitat for birds, there is a considerable amount of benefits that green roofs provide. For that reason we encourage people to connect back to the simple joy of growing their own food.

Getting Started
·Select an area of the roof that gets the most sun.
· Lay down plastic or wood sheeting to protect the roof.
· Collect pots, garden containers, bookshelves or small child’s pool for growing your plants. We personally like making our bedding by nailing recycled wood.
· Fill in the containers with soil and place your plant. *If you space them too closely then they won't get enough sun and they won't mature correctly.
· Water you plants almost every day unless it rains.
